DAY 1: Introduction to Fire Protection

DAY 2: Fire Detection and Alarm Systems
- Types of fire detection systems (smoke, heat, flame, and gas detection)
- Design considerations for fire detection systems
- Types of fire alarm systems (conventional, addressable, intelligent)
- NFPA 72: National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code
- Testing, maintenance, and inspection procedures
- Integration of alarm systems with other building systems
DAY 3: Fire Suppression Systems
- Principles of fire suppression and extinguishing agents
- Types of fire suppression systems: water-based (sprinklers, deluge, etc.), chemical suppression (foam, CO2, etc.), and clean agents
- NFPA 13: Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems
- Placement of suppression systems and considerations for various building types
- Maintenance and inspection of suppression systems
- Fire suppression in high-risk areas (chemical, industrial, etc.)
DAY 4: Life Safety and Emergency Response
- Fire safety provisions for buildings and structures
- Egress design: exits, pathways, stairwells, and fire-rated doors
- Occupant behaviour and evacuation strategies
- Fire drills and exercises
- Emergency communication systems and procedures
- Crisis management for fire-related incidents
DAY 5: Code Compliance, Inspections, and Certification
- Overview of key codes: NFPA 1, NFPA 101, and NFPA 70
- Understanding the role of local fire authorities

Certificates
- On successful completion of this training course, GLOMACS Certificate will be awarded to the delegates
- Continuing Professional Education credits (CPE) : In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsor, one CPE credit is granted per 50 minutes of attendance
